B737 Type Rating

B737 Type Rating Training offered by Air Horizont ATO is an EASA standard course to acquire licence endorsement that attests capability and authorization to operate a Boeing B737 300-900 series.

Pre-Entry Requirements for B737 Type Rating Course

An applicant for the first type rating for a multi pilot airplane shall comply with the following requirements:

  • Have at least 70 hours of pilot in-command experience;
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Hold:
    • a minimum ICAO language profile in English language of 4.
    • a valid class 1 Medical certificate;
  • Hold or have held a valid ME/IR (A) qualification.
  • Have passed ATPL(A) theoretical knowledge examination in accordance with Part FCL;
    • Hold a certificate of satisfactory completion of an MCC course in aeroplanes; or
    • Hold a certificate of satisfactory completion of MCC in helicopters and have more than 100 hours of flight experience as pilots of multi-pilot helicopters; or
    • Have at least 500 hours as pilot
      • of multi-pilot helicopters; or
      • in multi-pilot operations on single-pilot multiengine aeroplanes, in commercial air transport in accordance with the applicable air operations requirements; and
  • Have completed the training course specified in FCL.745.A. Upset Prevention Recovery Training (UPRT)

B737 CBT Computer Based Training

This course provides complete systems training by use of text, audio, graphic animations, and interactive training, providing the highest level of learning. Each module has its own knowledge assessment for evaluating the understanding of the type rating lesson.

Boeing 737 CBT Course is delivered on the CPaT Learning Management System and the CPaT Mobile Application and will operate on PC, iOS, iPad, iPhone, Mac, and Android computers, tablets and devices. This course can be used both On-Line and Off-Line and will synchronize when connectivity is re-established.

Class Room and Moke Up Training

Class room (procedures, performances, etc.) and Moke Up Training is performed at Air Horizont premises in Pietà (Malta) or Zaragoza (Spain).

Simulator Training

Nine training sessions and one for the skill test will be held in one of the simulators approved for Air Horizont ATO

Zero Flight Time

If course is performed as ZFT option, one more simulator session will be necessary for touch and go training.

B737 TYPE RATING TRAINING

Flight Training

Flight training (also named Base Training) is performed on Air Horizont B737 aircraft at a designated airport as per availabilty. The amount of flight training will be in accordance with pilot previous experience.

Non Experienced Pilots

Applicant for the first type rating for a multi pilot airplane are considered non-experienced pilotd and shall perform six take off and landings, of which at least one is a full stop landing, and one go-around on aircraft.

Experienced Pilots

Flight training for experienced pilots can be reduced to four take off and landingsof which at least one is a full stop landing, and one go-around on aircraft
